You can invest in AI but if you don’t focus on computer vision, you will not maximize your business’s potential growth
Here’s why computer vision is mandatory for modern business success:

While there are numerous AI technologies to consider, overlooking the specific area of computer vision applications could mean missing out on a substantial opportunity for growth and innovation.
Computer vision, the AI domain that enables machines to interpret and process visual data as humans do, stands out as a particularly transformative tool.
It’s not just about adopting AI; it’s about strategically harnessing its most impactful aspects to unlock new levels of efficiency, customer engagement, and market differentiation.
In this article, we delve into why computer vision is a game-changer for businesses, especially for those in coaching, consulting, and expert service sectors, and how you can leverage it to not just keep up with the competition, but to set the pace in your industry.
Facial recognition
This is something you need to know when thinking about AI and facial recognition…we are going to have to rethink everything.
Traditionally we linked facial recognition with identity. That’s because when you look at a person’s face you identify them.
But LLMs and this next generation of computer vision models are going to change everything. Facial recognition is going to be combined with the power of NLP to train robots, aid self-driving cars in recognizing sleeping drivers, and even help in advertising to the right person at the right time.
Living in the remote work world we are living in an “always on” world. We are constantly using video to supply big data with new training material. Further accelerating these advancements.
Self-driving cars
It’s interesting how self-driving cars no longer rely on computer vision. They are currently making the shift to a computer vision and NLP hybrid.
Recent publications show that instead of relying on a sequence of images to recognize a route or remember directions we can introduce LLMs to simplify the task. Self-driving cars are now able to be given verbal directions and find the route in coordination with computer vision model to plan and execute actions.
Learning has also accelerated with the integration of synthetic training data for self-driving cars. All of which is generated by AI itself. We will soon be living in a world where humans are completely out of the loop at every stage of driving.
Medical imaging
I’d hate to say this but if you are reading about medical imaging in the AI space now you are too late. A good friend of mine developed the leading algorithm to recognize breast cancer in patients with 96% accuracy about 5 years ago.
The exponential growth of computer vision techniques are making AI results more impactful and more meaningful. Moving us closer to a world without screens.
The AI will see for the masses. Giving the information we need to see and hear in the way that is most convenient for the individual.
While the medical field is very far behind the technological curve due to their lengthy process of safety and standardization they will catch up. Prices of healthcare will drop to zero and society will prosper.
Video analytics
Let’s take a second to stop thinking like the crowd.
When we hear the phrase “video analytics” we think “analysis”. Using steaming images to compute some sort of metric that provides more meaning from a scene in a video.
I’d like to invite you to take a second and think about what entertainment would look like if there was a computer vision model that refereed games. Creating a better viewing experience at home.
Imagine scenes in a movie being analyzed in real-time in coordination to your facial reactions to determine if the current story is meeting your emotional needs. Changing the plot and order of the film on the fly to make it the best movie you’ve ever seen.
Stop regurgitating what is suggested. See the future.
